Suzuki Jimny has been a popular lifestyle off-road SUV for the world. Produced in India and Japan, theoverwhelming responsehas been a chokepoint for Suzuki and the company even limited bookings into a lottery system for this lifestyle SUV. Now, Suzuki has reinforced the safety aspect of this SUV with a sophisticated ADAS suite. Lets take a closer look.
2026 Suzuki Jimny Gets ADAS
For MY26 version, Suzuki has upgraded the safety systems of Jimny Nomad with a sophisticated ADAS suite. Jimny (5-Door model sold as Jimny XL) got ADAS in critical markets like Australia in March 2025, where AEB (Auto Emergency Braking) is mandated. Other recipient markets for Jimny include South Africa, Middle East, Latin America and even Europe.
In Japanese market, Suzuki offers Jimny Nomade which is now equipped with ADAS as part of the 2026 model year upgrade. It has to be noted that Jimny Nomade is made in India and is quite similar to the Jimny 5-Door sold in India. The ADAS suite devised for Japanese market could trickle down to Indian model, if Maruti Suzuki finds enough demand for it.
Previously, Jimny and Jimny Sierra were offered with a monocular camera and a laser radar system. Now, they have been replaced with more sophisticated Dual Sensor Brake Support II system which consists of stereo cameras along with a MM (Milimeter) wave radar. With automatic gearbox variants, Suzuki Jimny Nomade even gets adaptive cruise control.
Any other changes?
With 2026Suzuki Jimny Nomade, ee can now see a more pronounced radar module cut-out in the front bumper where this MM wave radar is positioned. With 2026 Jimny Nomade, there is a new colour on offer as well, called Granite Grey Metallic. This takes the colour palette to a total of 7 shades.
On the inside, Suzuki has added a new colour MID screen in the instrument cluster which adds a host of functionality for Jimny Nomade owners. The main infotainment screen is a 9-inch unit and it is integrated into the dashboard. Other notable equipment is reversing camera that is also compatible with Suzuki Connect.
Bookings Resume!
2026 Suzuki Jimny Nomade bookings have been announced to restart from January 30th, 2026. The company received overwhelming response for Jimny Nomade bagging 50,000 bookings in just four days. Even though bookings have resumed, the lottery system is still in place and deliveries are dependent on the lottery system.
Prices have been hiked and 2026 Suzuki Jimny Nomade costs JPY 2,926,000 (Rs 17.42 lakh) for both Manual and Automatic variants. Previously, Jimny Nomade Manual was priced at JPY 2,651,000 (Rs 15.78 lakh), making the MY26 Jimny more expensive by JPY 270,000 (Rs 1.6 lakh).
