BEIJING, March 3 (Xinhua) -- The United States maintained top positions in both men's and women's world rankings recently updated by the FIBA, while Greece leapfrogged France into the sixth place on the men's rankings.
The FIBA men's world rankings were updated following the third window of the FIBA Continental Cup qualifiers, with the US staying in the top spot with Spain, Australia, Argentina, and Serbia rounding out the top five.
Outside the top five, however, changes in the rankings took place with Greece surpassing France into the sixth position.
Italy climbed from 12th to 10th, while Brazil and the Czech Republic each moved down one place to No. 11 and No. 12 respectively.
The women's world rankings were updated after the conclusion of the FIBA Women's EuroBasket 2021 qualifiers.
There is no movement among the top 10 sides, with the US, Australia, Spain, Canada, France, Belgium, Turkey, Serbia, China, and Japan making up the field.
The most notable climber in the latest rankings is Italy, which moved up two spots to 14th. The Czech Republic, in the same qualifying group as Italy, moved up a place to 16th.
